V

Todd and I just got back from seeing V for Vendetta. It was really good. There was only exceptionally gory scene that I wish they had left out. I think this was Natalie Portman's best acting job I've seen. Very good movie. Also of note was the preview for Xmen 3. I'm super excited about that and will definitely see it in theatres.

Fantastic!

I just got a letter in the mail from Kris. It had these earrings inside. I put them on immediately and declared them fantastic. They're made of yarn! Thanks Kris. :D

Two New Arrivals

1. If any of you know my friend Aida, you'll be happy to hear that she and her husband Elidon had a baby girl on March 3. Her name is Ilda (I think, I didn't ask for the spelling.) Both the mom and baby are healthy. Aida's my first friend to have a baby. I made her a little sweater and hat with tulips on it. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

2. Not as exciting as a baby, but also cool is my new little friend. I came home from errands today and Todd made me close my eyes as he led me through the living room. When I opened them I saw a custom made guinea pig cage. He built it out of plexiglass (and wood) and it is beautiful! Much much nicer than any storebought one. We went out tonight with some friends and picked out a guinea pig to live in it. Her name is Jessibeth. I got to pick her out and name her (as you probably guessed). I think eventually we'll get her a friend which Todd will name but we're waiting until the pet store has some more crazy-haired ones. I'll post pictures of the cage and the pig tomorrow.

Some things I've been meaning to tell you

Two little girls yelled to me through the schoolyard fence last week when I walked by during their recess "We like your scarf!" It made me smile.

I met up with an Australian guy who's mother put out a call on Craftster (see link on right) for someone to take him yarn shopping for her. He's here working on his PhD and she wants some Canadian yarn and other crafting supplies. That was random and pretty cool.

I got $20 in the mail the other day as a birthday gift from my cousins. I'm going to go use it to buy myself some nice yarn tomorrow.

I threw out a pair of Todd's underwear tonight. That was a first.

I fell twice walking home from work today. The sidewalks are pure ice (unless they're puddles.) I managed to slip on ice and fall in a puddle and fill my rubber boot with water. That was cold.

I did 6 loads of laundry tonight. It is all folded and put away.

I've been stashbusting like mad and have knitted a lot. I made a baby sweater for my friend Aida but can't finish it until I know whether she had a boy or a girl. I should call and find out. Or if anyone happens to know (which I doubt) let me know in the comments.

That's it.

Oh yeah - I'm 23 now.
