Christmas Quiz

I stole this from Justin because I liked it, and I like Christmas. A Lot.

Favourite Christmas Song/Carol: probably "O Holy Night" as a traditional carol, but for just a Christmas song that would be "At Christmas" by Hanson. Best Christmas song ever!

Favourite Christmas Movie: my video of The Nutcracker ballet with Macaulay Culkin

Favourite Christmas Candy: Domino Steinen, Marzipan, and Toffifee chocolates

Favourite Christmas Beverage: Christmas tea (that I'm allergic to :( )

Favourite Christmas Decor: a Christmas tree

Favourite Christmas Tradition: Christmas Eve church and then the Crandell's party

Favourite Christmas Memory: Jordan being born. Well, that and "Elf Bucket."

Favourite Christmas Gift Ever: my baby brother

Now make an acrostic for Christmas, using things related to Christmas:
C
hrist
Hymns
Red
Icicles
Santa
Trees
Mary
Angels
Snow

Make as many words as you can out of the letters C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S:
This question is stupid. Therefore I'm not doing it.

Random Christmas Questions:
Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Christmas Day, but we each open one gift on Christmas Eve. And we get one thing in our stocking each day for about a week beforehand and then nothing on Christmas Day. You enjoy the little things more that way.

Who do you spend the most money on? usually Todd.

When/how did you find out there was no Santa? I never believed in Santa. My parents didn't lie to me about him.

When do you do your Christmas shopping? All the way from May to November. Maybe a few last things in December.

Have you ever spent Christmas away from home? We went to Disney World as a family one year for Christmas.

Is Christmas your favourite holiday? It most definitely is!

Do you go to church on Christmas? Yes, Christmas Eve.

Do you even believe in Jesus, or do you just enjoy the perks of the greatly secularized holiday we call Christmas? It's primarily about Jesus and celebrating his birth, but all the other stuff is fun as well.

Seasons of Love

I had an amazing weekend at home.

First off, I went to Kitchener-Waterloo to chill with my sister(s) and friends from school and Embassy. Bandi and I went for breakfast on Friday and did some shopping, then I dropped her off at school and went for lunch with Steve, Cynthia, Justin & Kat. It was great to see them all again, but especially awesome to see Steve. I can't believe it had been 6 months! Hanging out with them makes me feel like Brian Maclaren or Don Miller - active in the quest for faith and doctrinal significance. It's good to have friends that inspire those thoughts and discuissions. After lunch I hooked up with Vicki at the mall and we had tea and went yarn shopping (unsuccessfully). She has a supercute apartment, and delicious chocolate icing!

Friday night was girls' night. Morgan and her mom came with my mom, sister and I to see Rent. Good movie. Well done, and with fantastic music! (I'm listening to the soundtrack now), but questionable morals. Overall though I was very impressed with it. If homosexuality upsets you I would not recommend seeing this movie. The music was wonderful. Absolutely Fantastic.

Saturday I went to T.K.'s with my dad and had good times with the Albanians. I love those people so much! Then decorating christmas cookies with my family. We were supposed to go bowling in the evening but Jess broke a rib so we couldn't.

Sunday, I led worship at DCC. It was such good service. God was there in such a huge way that it was tangible. I love when he shows up like that.

We chilled out for the afternoon with family and Tall Jeff. He's like an extra brother so that was good.

My only regret is that I didn't get to see Kris. Why didn't you call me back girl? I'm assuming you were working a lot.

I'm happy to be back home though. Todd is nice to come home to. He even cleaned the apartment while I was away. : )

In Which I reply to People

hey guys,

Marcel - i'll be gone by then, sorry! My real purpose this weekend is to see my family so I'll only be in waterlo for a very limited time. :(

Justin - I emailed you.

Kris - I believe we're going to see Rent saturday night? I hope you come - i really want to see you!!

Jen - that stinks, but good luck with school. I don't envy you at all. I'll send you my address one of these days and we can write fun old-fashioned snail mail letters. :)

Victoria - I emailed you.

Cynthia - I emailed you as well.

Steve - I don't think you even read this, but I emailed you as well.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Waterloo Peeps!

I'm coming for a visit next Friday (the 24th). If anyone's free at all during the day, let me know and maybe we can get together? I'd love to see my old friends! : )

123

I just spent $123 on groceries and then had to carry it all home on the bus by myself.
Friggin heavy food.
But at least I can afford good food.
Speaking of money - this is a good month. There are three pay periods in November plus I get a bonus at the end of the month. Apparently we get a bonus every 3 months because we work in a "behaviour" home. I think that's a pretty nice perk! Too bad I don't get to spend it on anything fun - it'll come just in time to pay off my first big OSAP payment.

I'm off to help Todd with a project now. Seeing him stress about school makes me so glad that I'm done with all that. : D

Do you agree?

I took another quiz similar to the "what kind of knitting needle are you?" quiz, but I don't know if I agree with the results of this one. I'd like you guys' input.

This is me, apparently:
You are dishcloth cotton.
You are Dishcloth Cotton. You are a very hard worker, most at home when
you're at home. You are thrifty and seemingly
born to clean. You are considered to be a Plain
Jane, but you are too practical to notice.

What kind of yarn are you?

I'd appreciate comments as to what you all think is the most appropriate answer for me. Also, it would be cool if you take the quiz yourself to see what kind of yarn you are. Post your results as comments!

People Watching

I saw:
  • a man wearing one sock inside out and the other normally
  • a pirate, complete with headscarf and big dangly earring. He was totally a pirate.
  • a really spacy asian girl mumbling to herself in a foreign language. The mumbling escalated to a full out conversation with a non-existent partner.

KnitGeek

I added a thing to my sidebar over there on the right. It's a KnitGeek code. It's from Knitty.com. I guess it's purpose is so that knitters can identify what kind of knitters others are. I'm sure no one reading my blog will care to understand my KnitGeek idenity code, but I had fun figuring it out, so there it is! --->

Bamboo

I just took a quiz called "What Kind of Knitting Needle Are You?" Apparently I am bamboo. Here's my results.
bamboo
You are bamboo.Warm, cozy, and thoughtful, you take your time and
enjoy how things feel, smell, and taste. You
love the craft and beauty of traditional
things, and you value the comfort and
experience of knitting as much as the results.
But while you are reveling in your warm cozies,
don't get stuck. Warm is wonderful, but so is
the whole wide world!
