Good News

I have found out who my new shift partner is and I am thrilled about it. His name is Wes and I quite enjoy working with him. (There's a link to his blog at the right.)

I have a new little thing at the top of my blog - it's supposed to be an animation of me. I wish they had an option for freckles but sadly no. Wes told me about these things. The website is called Meez.com and it's pretty fun. Kind of like playing with Barbies.

I dyed some yarn today using Kool-Aid. It worked great but used a lot more Kool-Aid than I had originally thought I'd need so I'll have to buy about 24 more packages. My fingers are bright red right now. It's kind of messy stuff. You pour the dye over the yarn and then microwave it. How weird is that?

Ah! I just remembered that I've got laundry going - I better go switch the loads. I try to catch it in time so that I don't waste time on the dryer so I've gotta go.

New Template

Check out my new template. I found it on the internet today and I really like the pretty-ness of it. It's so girly. : )

I don't have much to say today, we went to church, then bought ice cream on the way home so it's been a great day so far.

Today is our One-Year anniversary (and I keep kind of forgetting). I have to work this evening so we went out on Friday to celebrate. We watched the Sound and Light show on Parliament hill. They use the front of the Parliament buildings as a screen. Breanna made our day this morning by sending us text messages saying Happy Anniversary. She's such a nice girl. Thanks Bre!

That's for now. Todd's cleaning the apartment so I guess I should help.

Oh, By the way...

... my baby brother, Jessiah, won the gold for archery at the Ontario Summer Games.

It's kind of a big deal.

Dance of Death

Fun Times & Rough Times

Sorry I've been absent lately, my parents were here for 5 days so I was kind of busy with them. We went to the market Saturday morning, impulse-bought a couch and chair. They were perfect for us and on sale, we couldn't not buy them. Then we went to the GreekFest and ate good food and saw whole lambs roasting on spits. Todd said they looked like they were dancing to the music. I can't find the photo I took now, but I'll post it later.

We went to our friends' (Keith and Darcie) wedding ceremony Saturday. I ran into a guy I knew way way back in the day at Braeside. Crazy. I waitressed at the reception, ducked out a bit early and chilled with my parents in the late evening.

Sunday was church and then the museum of Civilization. If you ever come to Ottawa GO THERE! It is my favourite thing. Technically it's in Gatineau but whatever, it's all one big city. We also went to Ikea, and my parents visited the parliament buildings which was, I think, the highlight of their trip here. Makes me think I should go tour them as well.

So now I am exhausted! Which partly explains why I've been teary all day. That, and the time of month, and the fact that my world at work is being turned upside down. I'm losing my shift partner yet again, which means that whoever is hired will influence my day-to-day life a LOT. Let's hope and pray that it's someone great. It also means that I essentially never work with Micah anymore. : ( And my schedule is changing a bit. I have an twelve hour shift now. So it'll take a while to see how all these changes will play out, they're not effective until September. I know it's all for the best but change is still hard. Hopefully some good sleep-in time tomorrow will help me cope.

I'll likely be back to post pictures later. They'll be good. (Mmmm, skinless sheep....)

Lost:

One Sock-in-Progress

If anyone finds my knitting, please let me know. I lost it while on vacation so it's either at my parents' house, my in-laws house, Breanna's car, or lost on some campsite. It's just a tiny ball of blue-green yarn with a set of 4 knitting needles and only about an inch of a toe knitted. If you see it, please let me know, otherwise Todd will only have one sock. :(

My guinea pig smells like Herbal Essences

... which is a heck of a lot better than smelling like guinea pig. Although she never really smells bad. But I've noticed that I'm less allergic to her when she is clean so she'll be having baths more often now. Good thing she doesn't really mind. I'll have to take pictures sometime for you.
I have no pictures of her now, but here are some other cute animals.
The little black puppy may be coming to visit us this weekend. She is so cute! Three months old and still officially un-named. How sad. :(

I knitted some stuff

A shawl for myself out of some leftover Fleece Artist yarn that I bought with my birthday money.
And a hat for Kris' birthday. She asked for a Canadian hat. I also knitted a purse for Morgan but have no good pictures. (Bre if you take any, pass them my way please!)

I'm an Idiot

I put my iPod through the laundry. Washer and dryer. It's dead. I can't believe I did that. I'm hoping it'll be covered on warranty but I'm afraid the warranty only covers product defects and not owner defects. Anyone know the policy?

Some Silly Pictures

<---Todd, Jordan the Jedi, and Justin at the Pig Roast Saturday night. Below is Todd and Bre/Morgan.

<-- And this is Todd looking drunk (but actually not at all). He rarely drinks so I like to tease him and take unflattering photos when he does.

Vacation

I'm currently at my parents' house. Todd and I took a week of vacation. We've been having a nice time, seeing everyone and just relaxing. I just got back from camping with Morgan. We totally cheated - we went to the mall one evening, and then yesterday we went to the movies. Kris and Becci came to visit, as well as our parents. It was fun. I was glad to spend time with Bre one on one.

I bought a record player at a thrift store. It was $3 and it's in perfect condition. It looks brand new but it's from the late 80s/early 90s. It's a kids record player in a portable bright yellow suitcase with Big Bird on it. I'm so excited because I have many records and haven't been able to listen to them. It works perfectly.

That's it for now. Todd's coming over soon. I'm going to the drive in tonight with my sister and her posse of boys, and then tomorrow is Bre's annual Pig Roast. It's going to be awesome as usual. And I'll be face painting, as usual.

See ya.
