school is cancelled today because of the snow. this is a very good thing because i got to sleep in, and because a quiz that was supposed to be tomorrow, is now cancelled. sweet deal.

church last night was awesome. God was definitley there. we had a rough start, the truck that brings all our stuff (sound equipment, chairs, etc.) wouldn't start so instead of having an hour to set up, we had ten minutes. but thank God it all pulled together and everything went well. despite not having had practiced, the worship team sounded amazing. the music and the sermon really touched me last night, it's like i found God's joy again. i love that feeling. and i'm super excited because next week, our worship team is releasing a cd. i'm definitely going to buy a copy. i need some new music.

my weekend in ottawa was amazing. it was so good to see my boy. we had a great time hanging out with friends. we went to see the dead sea scrolls on saturday with becky and rob. that was cool because we've been wanting to go on a double date since last valentines but since rob lives in australia it's very difficult to work out. the whole museum was awesome. i definitely want to go again and spend more time looking at stuff.

i'm excited that it'll only be 3 weeks until i see todd again. reading week will be great fun. yay for that.

i might go see Big Fish tonight with my room mate and some friends. that would be the perfect end to a great snow day. we'll see what happens with that.

my cowboy friend jeff is coming to visit me today i think. i want to take him out for bubble tea if he's adventurous evough for that. we shall see.

January 14, 2004 5:40 p.m.

i bought a beatles cd today for cheap. i'm excited about that. and i got most of the stuff i need for my brother's birthday gift.... just a couple more pieces. i'm excited about giving it to him cuz i think he'll like it. i'd tell y'all what it is but then he might read this and it would ruin the surprise.

i'm listening to Here Comes the Sun... i love this song. it's so pretty. if it were a colour it would be a yellowy peach colour. with some pink streaks to represent the wavy hawaiin sounding stuff in the background.

i need to read immense amounts tonight, so i am going to go get started.

i don't have much to say... i haven't been so great at updating lately. i had a really good weekend and spent LOTS of time with carissa so maybe that's why i haven't been around here much. silly girl, you're such a distraction. haha.... it's good to have friends and not be a loner.

dave took me to the dinosaur building on campus and it was very cool. there's a model of the great lakes that i really liked.... and the little coffeeshop felt very artsy.

i bought my bus ticket tonight to go to ottawa in 2 weeks. that will be a fun time.... then i'm going home the next weekend and good times will be had by all.

January 7, 2003. 5:23 p.m.

i spent all day yesterday sorting out my schedule and now it's all good. i'm again taking six courses but since one is distance ed i don't think it should be too hard. my profs are interesting. one is a little old man that dresses all in brown and i think he has a comb-over.

another guy reminds me of my buddy trevor crossed with andy warhol with a bit of gayness thrown in. his way of getting us excited about the course is to threaten us and he always sounds angry and he yells a lot. kind of like a motivational speaker gone wrong.

another prof reminds me of meg from the white stripes but a little bit older and a lot less dirty.

i got pictures back from the holidays....there are a few from the night that the girls slept over and morgan is making some ridiculous faces. i quite enjoyed those. the ones of us with necklaces on our heads turned out pretty well. i love pictures cuz then you never forget all the crazy things that happen.... like ian dancing around in skin tight women's snowpants. good times, good times.

Happy New Year y'all.

i'm back at school..... boo to that. my christmas was great though. the combination of grandparents, boyfriend, kris, morgan, burr, and all the other usuals was great. although i was sick for most of the holidays i still had a great holiday.

i got to spend some time at the duck's cottage and we had a great time playing dominos and other games. dominos is such a great game.

then i had a new years' party at my place and it went surprisingly well. deb came all the way from london. it was great to see her again, since we see each other so infrequently. and i scored some awesome cookies and super comfy p.j.'s out of the deal.... she forgot them at my house. i didn't mind that at all. : )

although i had had enough of people and was ready to come back to my nice quiet apartment, it was hard to leave everyone. especially certain people. i'm not looking forward to dealing with a long distance relationship again but you do what you have do right? it'll be okay. no fun, but it's definitely worth it in the long run.

todd took me to see peter pan and love actually during the holidays. love actually was good but had a bit too much sex. peter pan was amazing. i loved how they connected him to the weather. that was definitely the best peter pan version i've ever seen. it's made me decide to read the original book now. i've actually requested it from the library. it should be in within a few days.
